Makaiza Farms Limited, a reputable player in the agri-business industry, is seeking a highly motivated and strategic Sustainability Manager to lead the development and implementation of our sustainability strategy. The ideal candidate will lead and coordinate the implementation of certification for cocoa farms. Ensure compliance with Rainforest Alliance (RA) and EUDR standards, drive sustainability strategies, and manage field operations and stakeholder engagement. The candidate must be proactive, capable of building systems from the ground up and have a strong understanding of sustainability certifications within the cocoa value chain.
Design and implement the company's sustainability strategy in alignment with global best practices and the company's vision.
Develop and execute the RA certification work plan and strategy.
Ensure compliance with RA Sustainable Agriculture standard and applicable laws.
Train and supervise field officers and data teams
Liaise with LBAs/Brokers, farmers, RA auditors, and supply chain partners
Oversee internal inspections and continuous improvement plans.
Prepare and submit certification-related reports and documentation.
B.Sc./HND in Agriculture, Environmental Science, or related field
5- 7+ years of experience in cocoa certification and other sustainability projects.
Strong knowledge of RA/UTZ/EUDR standards and IMS (Internal Management System)
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Highly collaborative and a good team player.
