Makaiza Farms Limited, a reputable player in the manufacturing and agro-processing industry, is seeking a detail-oriented, energetic, and proactive HSE Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will ensure workplace safety and implement health and safety policies and procedures. He will conduct risk assessments, train employees, and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
• Ensure all policies comply with local, national, and international regulations.
• Organize and deliver safety training programs for employees.
• Ensure that staff are aware of and understand HSE policies and procedures.
• Prepare detailed reports on findings and suggest preventive measures.
• Maintain incident logs and ensure timely reporting as well as staying updated on relevant HSE legislation and regulations.
• Ensure company compliance with legal and industry standards.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure necessary certifications and inspections.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk assessment and management strategies for new projects, processes, and activities.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on HSE matters to management, employees, and stakeholders, and serve as a resource for HSE-related inquiries and concerns.
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science or related field.
Professional certification in HSE Level 1,2 and 3.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and the Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM) are all added advantages.
3-5years’ demonstrable experience in safety management, risk analysis, or a similar field.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities effectively as well as ability to communicate professionally with employees at all levels of the organization.
