Description

Makaiza Farms Limited, a reputable player in the agri-business industry, is seeking a highly motivated and strategic Head of Transport with relentless operational discipline, tactical leadership and analytical mind in managing large fleets and complex logistics operations.

 

Responsibilities
  • Strategic and Operational Leadership: lead the transport and logistics operations, translate board level transport policies into efficient field-level execution strategies by providing direct oversight and performance management of the team.
  • Fleet Integrity and Daily Inspections: ensure daily vehicle inspection routines, and coordinate with the maintenance unit to eliminate prolonged vehicle downtimes.
  • Dispatch, Route Compliance & On-Road Oversight: ensure full compliance with regulatory and company policies, and establish real-time monitoring systems for tracking trip progress and driver conduct.
  • Budget Control & Financial Accountability: manage the transport budget, present periodical performance reviews as required and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromise.
  • Leadership, Compliance & Capacity Building
Qualifications
  • B.Sc./HND in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 8+ years of proven experience managing large-scale transport or logistics operations.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft suite and digital operations tools.
  • Prior experience working with agricultural commodities or FMCG logistics is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
  • Self-starter who thrives in results-driven environments with minimal supervision.
